Remodeling in Your Future?

Interested in Remodeling a room but don’t know where to start?

Are you are interested in remodeling your bathroom, for example, but don’t know where to start? First you have the idea of what you’d like to see, then you think about your budget. As you proceed you might find that you need to adjust your desired project as well as your budget. Also, you’ll want to create a list of features you would like to have.

Remodeling Planning is Work

Remodeling planning takes effort. Why should you plan your remodeling project? It does take work. First comes the need or desire for something different better, or improved. You get that idea by seeing perhaps what others have and how it improves their lives either through the media or perhaps friends and family. Then you start rolling around ideas in your mind of how you can make the improvement happen, how it might work out at your house, or if you have to move to get what you want.

Dollars Count

Dollars are important, we all know. It takes funding to do a remodeling project, so that hurdle needs to be cleared. Establish an arrangement to comfortably handle the financial load.

Think and Use Resources

It takes time to plan what you want. If you think you want to have the space by Thanksgiving, for example, start looking for remodeling ideas the winter before you want it. Look at bath and kitchen products at retail and wholesale outlets available in your town. Use online resources like Houzz and  Pinterest. Start  seeking out a contractor, unless you already know from past experience or from friends who  you want to use.
Leave lots of time for the contractor to do his thing. It may take a month from the time he first sees your prospective project to put together a contract for the work you want to do. It will take a month or six weeks to make final selections, order products and get permits.

Start Early, Avoid the Bite

Don’t let the schedule bite you.  Start planning for your project early so you can have the space when you want it. Before you know it, you and your family will be enjoying the improvement you envisioned just months earlier.
